Cafe Visit in San Francisco
« on: December 24, 2016, 05:08:24 PM »
Visited this beautiful looking cafe in San Francisco...
http://coffee.caffetrieste.com serve one of the nicest coffee I ever tasted.
Simple setup but the ambient is simply cozy with a touch of nostalgic.

Blue Bottle Cafe, pretty good in drip coffee.
Their Columbia drip coffee is strong in aroma which what I like most.
The cafe setup is simple and spacious, but the presentation on usage of cups and plates hmmmm........ may not great to some of us.
Also I feel the staff aren't as friendly too maybe because they need to work on Christmas eve? hmmm......
Other than serving a cup of good coffee, maybe they should also consider putting on more smiley face too!
That will certainly make up a great day!

I have been to Caffe Trieste in San Francisco. Sausalito, which is across the Golden Gate Bridge also has a Caffe Trieste. Not sure if it's the same ownership though. Always had a good time in cafes in Sausalito and San Francisco. Feel so relaxed and lazy there.

On a side note, did you pay a visit to Lefty O'Douls or Tommy's Joynt? They are Hoffbraus.

I went to quite a few places in LA mid year ... I think one was a Blue Bottle too. They had a funk little DIY Sub running with a LEAP T class amp up on a wall...Ill try and find some pics and start a thread too for LA.

Ah.... didn't have he chance to visit Lefty O'Douls or Tommy's Joynt.
Or thing for sure is SF has a lot of cafes.
Yes I enjoy the time lazing around in Cafe Trieste, feel so cozy and comfy there sipping coffee and relax. Somehow the mood is different comparing to Blue Bottle. Blue Bottle appear to be more "commercialise" for the hipster .... Trieste is more casual and cozy...

You have photos of the branch in Sausalito to show, bro?
Probably they are of same boss?

Hi. Unfortunately, I did not take any pics. I used to live in SF Bay Area many moons ago. I think camphones haven't even come out yet when I left and I am not really into taking photos. I also spent several months in Seattle, my favorite city in the US. I was all lazy and relaxed in the Bay Area. In Seattle, I turned to Jello. Hehe. Weather not as nice a San Francisco, but Seattle is special. Much more balanced overall. Coffee culture is fantastic there. The birthplace of Starbucks...:)

Arhhhh.......
What a waste, wish you had some photos to show. There are so many cafes in Bay Area! Pretty sure Seattle coffee culture is strong too!
Perhaps time for you to revisit again  :-*

During my visit, I went to Fellow Products www.fellowproducts.com to buy their beautifully design Joey mug, Junior mug and pour over kettle.
Fellow Products is a new startup company but they had gotten great reviews for their product design and products.

Extremely energetic and passionate staffs! All aiming to help company grow bigger!
Love their culture!

Brought along my sexy red Feldfarb & Ikea French Press, blend and brew the Cafe Trieste beans....

What about this? Doesn't feel hot holding with the Joey mug, awesome mug from Fellow Products!

Enjoying a cup of hot brew coffee overseeing the Bay Area every morning during your holiday? I love it!

Seattle might be the birthplace of Starbucks...I think Australia is the death place of Starbucks. I think they closed nearly every store there in the end only a hand full left. And a good thing too if you ask me....I personally think compared to Starbucks that McCafe makes a better cup, but this is still at the bottom of the espresso drinks quality chain. I would sooner drink a $6 bottle of water than pay for a Starbucks coffee.

The likes of David Shomer (world champ barista) put Seattle coffee scene back on the map IIRC and now it's not too hard to find a decent espresso based coffee in most cities of the world.

Italy is still hard to beat as its the water there that makes the biggest contribution to their world beating results.

Other than sometime a place to sip and chat, also their price is like getting more and more....

Wish SG can get to have more nicer cafe both for the ambient and coffee ... but the cost is so high here....
haizzzzz....... pretty tough to sustain....

Hello Everyone. Happy Lunar New Year!

My palate is not really discerning when it comes to coffee. I am just able to tell the difference between acceptable and great. I tend to go back to places that hold a special place in my heart...you know, nostalgic reasons and atmosphere. Not so much on the actual quality of coffee, as long as it's acceptable...not nasty. Starbucks San Francisco along Geary Street (my first specialiaty coffee cafe)... right across from the American Conservatory Theater, Starbucks Sausalito, Caffe Trieste Sausalito and Seattles Best Coffee Seattle near Pikes ...4 cafes that I will remember with the utmost fondness.

There are many nice cafes in Singapore but so far...none that I have grown strongly attached to. I like Starbucks a lot but don't feel as strongly attached like I was to ones in San Francisco. Many of the Baristas are nice enough but the crowd, hmm, just too loud and too many screaming toddlers and kids who are not taught to behave appropriately in public. Many branches too many students hogging the tables and Insurance agents conducting business...quite a turn off.

Hi Bro Audiobeng

I agreed with what you said.
My first priority is the ambient and setup, it has to makes me feel good. If not drink also not shiok.
However if can have both good setup and coffee, that will be brilliant!

Having a lot of students around in Starbucks, Coffee Bean and other cafes are... perhaps this is the "local culture" here 😅 I myself enjoy reading newspaper or storybook while sipping coffee and enjoy the aircon too! Also sometime meet friends up and chat... but... these make finding a seat to drink coffee difficult during examination time 😖

Bro Audiobeng, are you born locally or rised up in US?
