Hello Everyone. Happy Lunar New Year!
My palate is not really discerning when it comes to coffee. I am just able to tell the difference between acceptable and great. I tend to go back to places that hold a special place in my heart...you know, nostalgic reasons and atmosphere. Not so much on the actual quality of coffee, as long as it's acceptable...not nasty. Starbucks San Francisco along Geary Street (my first specialiaty coffee cafe)... right across from the American Conservatory Theater, Starbucks Sausalito, Caffe Trieste Sausalito and Seattles Best Coffee Seattle near Pikes ...4 cafes that I will remember with the utmost fondness.
There are many nice cafes in Singapore but so far...none that I have grown strongly attached to. I like Starbucks a lot but don't feel as strongly attached like I was to ones in San Francisco. Many of the Baristas are nice enough but the crowd, hmm, just too loud and too many screaming toddlers and kids who are not taught to behave appropriately in public. Many branches too many students hogging the tables and Insurance agents conducting business...quite a turn off.
