What's brewing today?
« on: August 14, 2016, 02:44:54 PM »
Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome to the coffee thread where you can share what you've been brewing or ask for bean recommendations. A place to share and talk about your favorite coffee beans/roasters.

I'll kick things off with an Ethiopia Tinkur Anbessa from Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters in LA. Distinct floral aromas with intense flavors of KIWI and pear!

My standard daily coffee bean- Spinelli brazilian blend , a robust with strong aroma with more bitter taste and close to dark roast type.

I manage to come across this Indonesia brand of coffee while visiting Bali, TORAJA arabica coffee bean, a nice mellow and aroma coffee. Anyone know whether you can get this locally in Singapore?

Also normally where you guy get your coffee bean from and what brand?

I get my beans from Highlander at Kampong Bahru. They are quite disciplined in the roasting schedules and stock, so you have quite a good guarantee of freshness when you buy.

Wow, those are some serious coffee machine! I bet those coffee quality make by the machine is super ! You can open a coffee cafe already hahah.
Me been a lazy person, I opted for the easy way of using one press button Jura micro 8. Coffee quality is reasonable with enough coffee crema extract from the bean, also can do latte, expresso and cappuccino. I like the easy maintenance of the machine.

I'm in the process of plumbing in the new machine for filtered water and drain too.

The new units replaced a Rancillio Silvia and Rocky setup that was adopted at friends house as their entry level machine...that machine had quite a few mods too including a PID

Today's brew.

Coffee from Perk. Latte art was a fail today sadly. Quite full bodied with strong chocolate undertones.

How come all the Bro here like to use Vibiemme espresso machine? They must have done something rite for their machine that is worth to own it. Hmm... time to visit highlander to taste their coffee and look at the Vibiemme.

Can show without the milk, just coffee extract direct to see how thick is the coffee crema..

Is it a must to connect water pipping/host for the coffee maker?

Hey Bro,

Your setup looks very pro !
Do you also connect water pipping/host to the coffee maker too?

Today's brew.

It's not a must but it makes the risk of running the rotary pump dry and overflow of the drain tray.

It also helps with the pre infusion as there is pressure there without the pump running

One issue I have is with ants swimming in the water container  :-[ so plumbing in will help that for sure.

So I completed the plumbing in today...with a shot of some creama for jb  ;D

I've used a ultra carb under sink single unit from www.arkwater.com for filtration and had to adapt down from 1/2" to 3/8" adapter to connect to the domobar inlet hose fitting
