Overall I like the Wilson Alexx room sound and most probably the best sounding system for the show. It has a well balance sound from low, mid to high frequency is well presented, very netural with good transparent sound. Play a big orchestra music, and it is able to present a big and wide sound stage with good instrument seperation. Play some jazz music and it is able to re produce the ambient of a jazz bar, you can sit there and listen for whole day without listener fatigue. This is a very well setup sound system indeeded.

I also like this small 30w class AB Tracer amplifer from Tawian company. although a very simple setup, but this small amp is able to control the speaker well and present a wide sound stage with good pinpoint image. Although it will not be a all well rounder for all kind of genre of music, but play some nice acoustic music, jazz or vocal music, it will transport you to live stage. highly recommened.

The speaker have used some aluminium bracing to shift the cabinet resonant frequency. look at the simple pioneer cdp they used and a normal house hold power extension cord and able to achieve such good sound is amazing.

However good sounding they are, those are insane prices for the EmmLabs & Alexx gears!!

Notice B&W are not showcase in any of the rooms this year after launching their 800 D3 Series, are they still surviving or ran out of budget to promote their gears here?

Notably absent too are the very well regarded and well established Mcintosh, have not seen them in these shows for many years, wonder how Ong Radio is promoting them and still surviving for almost 80 years with them.

Ya i agree the high end is really over price for a hobby, with that price you can buy a HDB house!! or a brand new car!! I think the Hifi show standard has deteriorate over the year that most establish brand has start to stay out of the show. good brand like MBL, Mcintosh, krell, mark levision etc...all missing here...

Another room that i like is the ProAc speaker setup. It does not sound like the old ProAc speaker, but still a very good performance speaker. You would not go wrong with ProAc speaker playing Jazz or vocal music.

The GIYA room sound is warm and with good ambient sound stage, but it seems like the bass is suck out and not perform well in the room. The low bass is not tight at all and sound loose to me... may be is not properly setup in such a short time to get everything up. tumb down for the sound...but tumb up for the sale man willing to expain the detail to customer patiently..

The Giussani research speaker has good sound potential if setup properly, in the showroom I think is over driven so loud that it sound bright to me. I would hope they show case their Clarisys Audio planar speaker and compare to modern speaker sound...

Finally at the audioline room listen to the 400K Von Schweikert driven by Accuphase system. They are playing some opera music that give a big sound stage but overall i don't feel the music grab me. the system sound also does not sound coherent to me...may be other bro will disagree with me..

The Creative sound bar retail price $7999 and special issue price at show of $3999. overall sound I would quantify as average sound quality, but with $3999 i think it will price them out of the market. Mr Sim is at the show explain the details to customer, but I feel beside good engineering work, for audio design you need those professional audio guru like Marantz Ken Ishiwata who know what is good sound and engineering!

I was at the show today (sunday) from morning till 6pm. Heard how the wilson audio alexx slowly got run in. At ard 4pm, it suddenly came alive (same recording, same vol as the earlier part of the day). It sounded much much more fluid and bass resolution was very detailed and textured. To me its sound quality has exceeded the previous flagship Alexandria x2 and losing out only in terms of stage size and deep low to the current flagship XLF  (barr the soon to be avail wamm). I like the Alexx a lot

The xaudio system with the g1 just did not sound right to me. Something was missing, the low was not there...

Audioline's big ultra 11 needed a bigger room i guess. It need to be turn up more in terms of volume to get me feeling more engaged. But when the vol was turned up, reflection was coming from all ard and it started to feel messy for me. The reflection from pertruded wall on the left side was making the sound unbalance even at soft volume.Really hoping to hear them in a better room. This pair of speaker to me sounded very transparent yet wholesome(when the vol is higher), very high resolution pair of speakers. Very promising, need a gd room to let it sing

The brand Mcintosh sells by itself, ong radio do not need to do lotsa marketing or price it more agressively. Expert grp are turning their eyes to malaysia and other countires in sea..perhaps sg mkt is too small for them
