HifiCafe.SG Feedback / Goodbye SNA
« on: June 28, 2021, 11:30:56 AM »
In an SN post I have said my bit...and I quote

"I've lost all my feedback (over 9 years of posting in XPL) and never had interest in a regional global forum never mind the chaos of a global one.

XPL was by Singaporeans for Singapore and fortunately we have other local users who are fulfilling this need now. And in this regard you will likely see very little of the really active XPL users back here - IMHO.

Goodbye to you all in the rest of the world as I dont have time to in my life to contribute in a global platform.

Good luck @Marc ... wish you all great times ahead but I doubt ill be dropping in here much now, so have fun guys - too much flashy advertising and visual distractions now that detracts greatly from the content.

A Kiwi who is homed in Singapore.

Wiz Out."

Quite a few are DIYers here...I for one do quite a lot but have slowed down a bit of late due to time and available space to work.

HiFi Audio Equipment Discussion / Re: DC offset in power line

I seem to recall there is some easy way to kill such DC offsets with a bridge rectifier and some caps (I could be wrong tho)...they are also known to wreak havoc with toroidal transformers too I think.

I got Dirac going on the Emotiva XMC-1 ... impressive looking results but not using it while a rearrange things - before, after and combined...2 channel settings only

Belden make some pretty decent cables and especially used in the pro markets where good transmission and durability are key. My Linkwitz speakers are all Belden 2, 4 or 8 core and never any complaints.

Unfortunately I can't recall the exact location but maybe could find it on google maps as i did once before years ago.

visited this amazing Sushi bar and had the best meal ever in japan, I think all in was about 11,000Y for 2 and never ate and drank so much...the sumo wrestlers got there too as their pics are all on the walls. The sushi chiller was carved out of a ~20' tree trunk !!! we had grilled fugu in broth and what them make chawanmushi from scratch for us. only one customer could speak some english there so was a challenge to order but basically we said fedd feed us until we say stop. we went back 2 more times, took a photo with the mom and pop owners and sent a nice framed print back of them with us with out friends - must do that place again, even worth a special trip.
