Active Loudspeakers
« on: September 01, 2018, 04:26:34 PM »
Hi,

Due to limited space in my small home, I'm getting rid of my existing amplifier, CD player and floorstanding loudspeakers.
I'm thinking of using an active loudspeaker to play the songs from my iPhone.
I've listened to the Klipsch R-15PM power speakers and the Klipsch The Sixes. What other active loudspeakers would you recommend? I usually listen to English and Chinese songs. I prefer to have more bass (floorstanding speakers tend to have more bass) but the bass must not too loose.
Thank you.

Hi Chctap,

For active speakers, most of the brands are coming from pro audio industry, but there are some made HiFi brands make for home theatre that you can also use for HiFi listening. Some of the brands you can consider are

Adam Audio
Eve Audio
Yamaha
Mackie
KRK
ATC
KEF
Focal Audio
PMC

What kind of budget range you have in mind?
I believe you can get most bookshelf under $1k, but the better one usually cost much more. Floorstander will be even higher.

Give Dynaudios a try, esp if you like bass.
Sony Z1es | Densen DM20 | DM30 | Dynaudio S1.4

Nordost Heimdall | Baldur | QED Genesis

Maestro | 7N-4030 | Plixir Elementa BAC3000 | PC
