I have been diying for many years and want to share my latest set up.
My speaker is markaudio 12 p in superpensil box. 92 db 6inches full range. Cost about RM 2000 in total
Amplifier is tda 7297 chip amp with a LT 1085 regulated smps power supply . cost about ringgit 100 .
Source is tda1541 with lampizator 6n2p tube output stage --about RM 500.
I use an old atom processor fan less pc running on lubuntu.
My room is about 200 sq feet.
Well how is sound?
It is lively ,3 dimensional, plays well with vocal , rock and orchestra . piano sound very realistic and life like !!
It is suitable for beginners like myself and no high voltage to harm you.
I hope more diyers can join the hobby.
If there is any interest i can post some pictures

KP93300, wellcome on board. Please do share the photo as some forumer will be interested, also share what area need to be take care for good sound base on your experience on DIY.

Unable to post pictures because if size limitations
Good sound is subjective and one must understand what type of sound make you happy.
I like harmonic detail , immersive soundstage and seductive vocal.
I only diy simple circuits because it is easier to succeed and i feel that they sound natural even though they don't measure well.
In the built correct ground layout and local power supply decoupling is very important.
I follow nelson pass principal of good quality first watt in the amp.

Great job, bro!!!

Dr. Wong nice work! yes, I like your system sound, very transparent sound, great vocal, and will rival system cost $$$ anytime
-
Thanks jb for kind words.
My set is constantly evolving because of itchy hands.
I am very very surprised at how the 16 ringgit tda7297 chip perform. It easily resolved 3 layers of soundstage and very stable soundstage.
Try it if you have sympathetic speakers.
The kuching hifi kaki are still active.
Singapore kaki are welcomed.

I think the magic is from your full range speaker as the sound is phase coherent , you get the image and sound stage very realistic and 3D. As your speaker has very high efficiency of 92dB, you might as well try built some Nelson Pass single end class A amplifier, I think it will be best match for your sound system. Single end amp does not have the cross over distortion of push pull amp and is very linear, also the circuit is very simple with few parts and low cost.

I have already build Pass F5, Aleph J , DOZ from Elliot and JLH class A .
Waiting to be powered up only .
cheers

Wow , that's great! will be waiting for your review... but I am sure will be best match for your speaker. Do keep us updated on your design. I am sure if some forumer have heard your system sound, they will request your help to build a set too!
I also believe in Nelson Pass theory on single end design, use as little parts and make the circuit as simple as possible. The more parts you add in circuit will degrade the sound.

Wow its nice to see raw diyers. Nice work KP.
Guys like us are getting thin to the ground. Wish

I was playing with this cheap full digital amp with STA 333 chip .
I bought from here
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/STA333BW-USB-Pure-Digital-Power-Amplifier-Board-With-USB-Sound-Card-DAC-Bass-Treble-Adjustment-Function/32692695340.html
The amp is very very transparent, no hum or hiss with ear to speaker.
It does not has the warmth and seductive vocal of TDA 7297 and TDA 1541 combination .
However, the high frequency is very very clean and extended.
Microdynamic manifested with vibrato from vocal is superb.
Soundstage is more stable but less 3D than the other set up .
It is very engaging as it is very lively and can fool you to imagine that the band is in the room !
If you have the time and sensitive speaker, give it a spin!!

Sumotan,
Are you posting in diy audio also.
are you a great fan of TDA 1541 also ?
There is a handful of chopping board diyers in kuching.

Sumotan.
Very nice room.
Hope to have a chance for audition in future.
Are you in Singapore also?
I have the aya 2 board waiting for attention.
My tube I zator pcb from oliver has been completed and waiting for testing. Have you tried this iv stage?
So many projects but so little time.

Hi KP
Thanks it's actually my bed room. Lol. Very good that you've got AYA pcb, pls populate them asap cause Pedja has done a great job for the TDA. It really brings out the true potential of what this Chip can do. I've been mucking around with AYA for almost 2
years & I think it's finally at where I like it to sound like. For starters if you haven't the S1 chip pls go hunt for 1, world of difference. Had a double crown but sold it cause it's too refine for my liking. I'm actually in Batam which is about an hrs ferry ride away from Sg. Your most welcome to drop by if you happen to be around Sg. Regarding the I/V I've left it as per Pedja's
design. It's pretty good & transparent with some simple tweaks. If you like tube sound you can incorporate else where down
the chain. From pass experience, passive I/V does not bring good enough dynamics to the music unless one goes with parallel dac setup but then again I'm not clever enough to design a good pcb like Pedja to exploit it . Nice chatting with you KP, hope that we could meet up someday.
Cheers

My second Full Digital amp.
Took advantage of the singles day sale at AliExpress and ordered the Fei xiang D 802c .
I am very very impressed . I have retired TDA 1541 for the time being.
No hum, hiss and very good micro and macro dynamic.
I built a usb power supply regulator with LM 317 and happy with the improvement.
I think the it is a significant upgrade from the TD1541, amanero usb i2s converter and Tda 7397 based set up that i am using. The illusion of musicians in the room is the best that i have experienced..
Will be building a linear power supply soon to feed the D802. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171126/921a6a16c227d8bacb5ccf1b8e603617.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171126/f0bb6ae0ebd64376223de2833bf75820.jpg)
