Title: Digital Music setups...what do you use and how geeky do you get ?

Ill kick this with off a bit of a primer...

Servers ... what do you use for music library software.
RoonLabs
River
FooBar ? is that a server...you get my drift

Server Hardware - pretty self explanatory

Operating System...pretty self explanatory oo

Power on time...24/7, just when you want it, Wake on Lan etc, etc?

Endpoints...
Networked Wifi/LAN, USB, COAX, TosLink, SP/DIF etc.

DACS ... the list will be endless  :-X

Any DIY stuff?
DACs Rasperry Pi's etc

Main formats preferred
FLAC, ALAC, MP3  :o, DSD/DSF etc  etc

Do you do UpSampling?
24/192 DSD256 etc

Other DSP related things like room correction, Crossfeed, Parametric EQ, Headroom management and other filters?

Wildrain, have you compare the Sony HAP-Z1ES to Marantz NA11S1 in term of sound quality?   As I am still looking for better DAC for streaming music.

My digital music setup is using Marantz Na11S1, server is using Bufflao NAS. Streaming Spotify using Marantz phone APP or FLAC, WAV file. Using TP-link ethernet media converter via fiber optic to isolate the wifi router noise.

For me,

NAS - Melco N1-ZH
Control Software - Lumin
DAC - Totaldac D1-Six
Preferred Format - AIFF
Upsampling - No
Room Correction - No
Other stuff - USB output from Melco goes through a Singxer SU-1 USB/SPDIF bridge
Cables - Wireworld Platinum USB cable and Black Cat Tron coaxial cable

The Melco is connected to a small TP-Link travel router powered using a power bank. The usual audiophile stuff like a platform for the Melco and aftermarket powercords for both the Melco and Singxer.

I got Dirac going on the Emotiva XMC-1 ... impressive looking results but not using it while a rearrange things - before, after and combined...2 channel settings only

Didn't get a chance to compare....but then i preferred the "self sufficient" approach of Z1ES - No separate storage needed, No PC needed and No separate DAC needed. Minimize variables

NAS - Synology 412+
Streamer - Lumin A1
Control app - Lumin or JRiver
Formats - AIFF & DSD
UpSample - Native preferred, don't like upsample.

Cables - Acrolink 2090 XLR & Oyaide LAN

Synology NAS is located in another room with assigned network port directly to patch panel to my setup's wall network port.

Further isolated using Planet 10/100Mbps Optical/Fibre Media Convertor powered by Teddy Pardo LPS.

Lumin A1, Teddy Pardo LPS (FMC linked to Lumin) are powered by Sound Affairs BAC 500 Gen 1. Teddy Pardo LPS (FMC linked to wall network port) connected to another wall socket via a long power cord.
