I was born and raised in Singapore but I spent an extended period of time in the Bay Area many years ago. Many fond memories. They don't have our hawker centres and foodcourts but they have their diners. Big portions at reasonable prices! Spent some time in the german part of Switzerland too. Loved the sidewalk cafes, especially in the small towns. Quaint double storey shop houses with cobblestone sidewalks. Pace always easy going and lazy. Not rushed and kancheong like in Singapore. Oh yah...less car fumes while sipping kopi too.
